Janet M – “I love Greek islands and the book brought a touch of Greece to an English winter. The characters were very likeable and easy to relate to, I liked the Shirley Valentine references. I read it quite quickly as it was such an easy read, so would recommend for a holiday read by the pool or on the beach, preferably on a Greek island with a cocktail (or two) by your side. Well done Simone Hubbard on your debut novel.”
Jen C – “If you’re jetting off to sunny climes and realise your scales tell you you’re on excess baggage, ditch that extra pair of sandals, instead slip in this new novel hot off the press and enjoy! Alternatively if you’re at home, hike up the heating and let this book whisk you away and get yourself caught up in the moment. Either way it’s perfect escapism.”

John G – “For a debut novelist this was a really good read. Not my usual genre – holiday romance – but it kept me turning the pages. It also left me wanting a trip to a Greek island, and a generous supply of cocktails… There are a few surprises along the way, and I loved the Shirley Valentine references! Book your flights, pack your bags, pour yourself a drink and enjoy being Under a Greek Spell.”

Joanne H – “What an absolutely amazing debut this is. Started and finished on a wet and dreary bank holiday Monday in England and spent the entire day transported to the glorious Greek island of mykonos with the amazing Collins sisters. Is so well written it truly is like you are there with them and the characters are very relatable too. Loved this and hope there will be more to follow.”
Anna W – “Loved this story, great holiday read! when Helen and Stephanie’s travel plans get disrupted at the last minute Stephanie is not sure what to expect, but she gets more than sun sea and great cocktails. Good fun easy read, perfect for lazy days and holiday by the pool days.”
Helen D – I’ve brought your book “Under a Greek Spell” to the island of Crete as I promised … two days in to my holiday and Ive finished it – I couldn’t put it down, what a great read thank you, so much of it made me laugh out loud, there’s a Costas and a Stefanos wherever you turn out here and we’ve all got a bit of Shirley Valentine in us…it usually takes me weeks to read one book and I’ve now got the rest of the week to fill or err talk to my husband and maybe try a few cocktails! Good luck with the book sales … from one happy customer.”
Paul & Lesley B – Great holiday read which we both enjoyed! All your hard work over the years has well and truly paid off. We look forward to reading another! X

Lizzie P – For someone who doesn’t often pick up a book this was a very easy to read with a good storyline which was easy to follow, this was a great holiday read!! With some unexpected twist and turns this is a great book to keep you hooked!!! Completely worth the buy!!!
Helen H – took this book to Paphos, Cyprus with me to read. It was the perfect location to read this story about two sisters and their adventures in Greece. I laughed and cried with them as I followed their journeys. I really enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to read more about their next adventures. Highly recommend.
Fiona M – Reading this book inspired me to book a Greek holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed this book whilst relaxing on the beach, well done Simone.
Samuel P – I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly and had a great time following the engaging and surprising storyline. The descriptions of the islands make you feel like you are there and the author excellently illustrates the characters in a way that makes them seem relateable and fun. I recommend this book because it is so vivid and relaxing to read.
Stephanie B – This is a light-hearted holiday read with lots of funny episodes and a good sense of place. You can really visualise the Greek setting. There is a lot of dialogue and it romps along. Very escapist and with characters you care about. A bit of drama and jeopardy too!
Mo – I began reading this novel as the clocks went back and the nights drew in. I was soon carried back to the dazzlingly bright days and warm summer nights of a recent visit to the Greek Islands. As a reader I was soon immersed in this tale of two sisters. Their story draws you in as it unfolds with warmth and humour. This would be an ideal holiday read at the poolside or equally as a reminder of summer read by an open fire in the depths of winter.
Pam – I bought this at the author’s book launch. When Stephanie Valentine accompanies her sister on a work-related trip, she meets an attractive waiter with ‘Costas’ on his name badge, and introduces herself as ‘Shirley.’ (Get the gist?) Costas also has a brother. (No spoilers.) The story made me smile, and I enjoyed the dramatic development at the end, when a natural disaster determines the relationships between the two pairs of siblings.
